Mya and Venita

Posted on Updated on

The first weekend in October 2021 was the Pacific Northwest Welsh Springer Spaniel Club’s supported entry. Mya (Higgins x Tilly litter) made her debut in the show ring with Venita handling. What an able, beautiful team! Mya won her class each day and also went Reserve one day. A great start in conformation! Thank you Venita!

My Rose

Posted on

My beautiful black English Cocker Spaniel, Fox River Wild Rose, Rose, passed to the rainbow bridge on Thursday, September 9th. She was the only girl in my very first litter (Lucy and Drew) and she was very special. She went to live with my brother-in-law Gerald and his wife Frankie several years ago and she was well loved and cared for as evident by her full life of 16 1/2 years. I will always be grateful to them.

Reunion

Saturday August 28th at the Lake Elmo, MN dog show, we were excited to meet up with Tilly x Higgins puppies and their owners. Left to right: Rick with Duffy, me with mother Tilly and daughter Iris, Ben with Freya and Shawn with Vinny. I was so proud of all of the puppies and their new families for entering the show and for taking time to show them off.

Good bye Ruby

Posted on

August 18, 2021 I said good bye to Ruby – CH Fox River Cranberry Bounce BN, CD, GN, RE, NJP, NAP, RATI, RATN, CGC. Especially hard to do with your first born champion. She loved puppies and was an excellent mother. Four of her puppies went on to be show champions. She loved to hunt and track, but we never got around to competing. Fourteen years just wasn’t enough time to do all that we had planned. A beautiful loving girl – miss you, Ruby.

Shandy earns her novice agility titles

Posted on

August 8th, 2021 at the Packerland Kennel Club agility trial, Shandy rose to the occasion by finishing up her jumpers and standard novice preferred titles. I know, that isn’t a real big deal, but Shandy is 9 1/2 and we have put off competing for many various reasons over the year. So, it gives me great satisfaction to finally complete a goal we set many years ago. Next on the list for Shandy is tracking and maybe some obedience and rally. She loves the one on one time and loves to show. Go Shandy!

Statesman Award for Higgs!

The Annual Statesman Award is awarded to the top winning Welsh Springer Spaniel with an AKC hunting title. Higgs also earned the award in 2019. I’m very proud of my boy. He loves to hunt!

Photography was made during the 2015 WATKC Hunt Test. The event took place October 3rd and 4th, on the WATKC grounds in Big Bend, WI.

English Cocker puppies!

Posted on Updated on

January 27th, 2021 Juno had a beautiful litter of four puppies. Juno is a co-owned black and tan girl, Fox River Midnight Rambler who is staying with me until the puppies are ready to go to their new homes. Sire is Zulus, a solid liver male, Zulus Modus Vivendi who is from Poland and owned by my friend Emily and her husband.

The litter is one black male, two black females and one red female. They are five weeks old today and growing like weeds! I do have one puppy available – probably a black female. If you are interested, please email me at foxriverspaniels@yahoo.com

I’ll try to post pictures as soon as possible.

Ben and Freya

Posted on Updated on

I’m waiting for a picture of Ben and Freya. Freya earned her Novice Trick Dog recently. Now I can’t take credit for this team, but I can take credit for this litter of puppies. That is two puppies from this litter of eight to have their Trick Dog title before they are even six months old! Freya is Fox River Sweet Little Lady from the Higgins and Tilly litter. Watch this fun video of the two until I get a picture. https://youtu.be/KNCIGexdKlg

Our First Dog – Snicker

Posted on

Yes, Snicker was an English Springer Spaniel – liver and white. I believe she was born in 1983.
The girls were about 6 and 3 when we got her. She was a great dog for them growing up. She lived to
be 12 1/2 years old.
